Congrats, We Love It
To the Editor:
Congratulations and many thanks for your informative, entertaining new magazine. Arthur Y. Webbs consideration of the best word for people experiencing the final third of their lives in his Aging or Ageism: Do Words Make a Difference? (April 2005) has me thinking about the term elder. For me it connotes respect, wisdom, and continued value to community. Perhaps you might encourage your writers to use elder in the subsequent issues I eagerly look forward to reading.

To the Editor,
I found the premiere April 2005 issue of NYCPlus in the lobby of my building. What a gem! filling a rich, deserved niche. Ive read it from cover to cover gleaning useful, enjoyable, and entertaining information. Kudos and congratulations. I am also writing because I was so moved and inspired by the courage and words of Deborah Emins memoir, At 50 I Decided That I was Done Being Schizophrenic. I want to share it with others, especially with my therapist, who I know will find it useful as it hits on a point particularly apropos to my personal process.

To the Editor:
I am overwhelmed with excitement! And in some respects cant wait to get to 50 myself. Screw the 50+ers; we 30/40-somethings need this as a morale-booster. Suddenly midlife seems like the beginning of life! I have been coming to that conclusion anyway, but reading the stories of other people (not close friends or relatives) in a collection like this, just brings it all home.
