Best Friends
This month we celebrate some of our best friends – from our pets to people whom we’ve observed over the years.
My dog Rory is more than a pet and more than my baby – he’s my best friend. Together we exercise and relax, play and laugh. So it’s no wonder as new research shows that our best friend is also good for us, as detailed in our story “A Four-Legged Cure.”
Friends with dogs and I’ve planned daytrips together and I’ve even taken vacations – like a week in a beachfront cabin on Cape Cod – just so Rory could enjoy the ocean. Traveling with a pet presents different challenges so check out “Petiquette,” dos and don’ts for travel with your furry friend.
Recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, Senator Edward Kennedy has been urged to fight the battle of his life. However, others argue he should try a different approach. Read “Ted Kennedy’s Greatest Challenge” to see where you stand on fighting for your life.
Frequent contributor Jerry Tallmer had an interesting talk with the esteemed James Earl Jones who has been on one long, amazingly successful run since his days as a janitor at the Village Voice. You’ll enjoy the ride.
And, it wouldn’t be summer without watermelon. Since July is National Watermelon Month, we picked four scrumptiously delicious recipes to share with you.
Relax, enjoy and pet a pup! Have a great summer.
